February 14 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am
An event every 3 weeks that begins at 7:00 am on Friday, repeating indefinitely
What does God say about serving? Does God have expectations for business and occupational excellence. How do we learn? How successful can we be if we let God be our partner?
Ideas, thoughts… or is there a plan? Looked for instruction from spiritual leaders in various areas. God has led some incredible people to this initiative so far… I wonder where he will lead tomorrow and who he will lead to us? Identified communities and arranged potential suitable venues for meetings. Plus hundreds and hundreds of secular contacts I have worked with over the past 2 years in many parts of BC. To provide multiple sources of business information, insights and guidance.
And always looking for more. It is going to be interesting to see who God brings on board and where he leads us.
So really, what is Gods plan? Are you going to be part of it?
How can you be of service to others? Christian Business includes anyone involved, was involved or wants to be involved in any aspect of business.
It will be exciting to see what happens when we see how God is planning to work with peoples passion for their businesses, careers, etc. and Gods guidance in them and our opportunity to talk and share these passions.
Thank God for His guidance.
Their have been some very inspirational meetings so far and the intertwining theme seems to be that as Christian Business people, we are more concerned about how well our businesses are (with respect to Gods plan) rather then how well our businesses are (with respect to profitability).
God has established 6 opportunities for Christian business people to meetup on the Island in various communities. He has also found 10 opportunities around the mainland.
A lot has happened since the first week in April. That week we started asking pastors if they knew of any networking opportunities for Christian business people? Each day God is introducing us to more and more potential, information, venues
May God was giving some instructions
June Getting started
July Looking for growth
The first month has had it share of expenses… it is going to take time to find Christian business people in each area who are interested in being involved.
Each proceeding month will begin to see more people attending our meetings, resulting in supporters becoming association members, referral business income generators, donors, sponsors, etc.
We will begin trying to find people in each location to facilitate the meetings and maybe even expand them to once a week if the interest is there.
The 3rd or 4th month we will begin to see about 30 to 40 people per meeting (based on meetup averages).
Spiritual leaders have been contacted at most of the Churches in the Communities listed and have experienced very positive response. The point is, we do not go to Church or worship centers to do business, but many business people go to Church and there seems to be a need not only to network for business improvement reasons but also to communicate and learn how we can help and benefit each other.
Current potential Christian Alliances we have begun to associate with, and each day/month more will be added.
Meetings – Generally the meetings will be as indicated on the itinerary until the end of January.
Potential – Opportunity to connect, learn, share and explore options and Gods leading.
Locations – Starting with communities on the mainland (currently 9) Mission, Maple Ridge, Coquitlam/New Westminster, Burnaby/Vancouver, North/West Vancouver, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Kitsilano followed by communities on the island (currently 6) Chemainus /Ladysmith, Duncan, South Nanaimo, North Nanaimo, Courtenay, Campbell River, then expanding the community involvement on the mainland, and the south end of the island. Eventually establishing meetings in communities throughout BC.
Venues – The ideal venue to begin meeting at is a restaurant with a separate meeting area, Ricky’s and White Spots are very accommodating.
Topics – Topics will vary depending upon the areas speaker pool. However, there is a large potential, from pastors explaining the blessings their Churches are receiving to business topics like financing, education, potential opportunities, sales and marketing insights, distribution choices, Christian business owners sharing insights into their businesses etc.
Finding resources constantly asking for speaker availability, to financial assistance to referral opportunities.
Vetting resources ??
Speakers – Again ask for suggestions everywhere we go, pointing out that although our meeting generally will not be large, they may be a way to attract opportunities for future engagements or business.
Contributions – Or assistance can come in a number of ways. Donations, membership fees, sponsorship’s, referral fees, etc.
Promotion – Can be accomplished by word of mouth, sites such as www.meetup.com, Eventbrite and others.
Referrals – I am hoping to take advantage of people requiring new business and being willing to pay referral or lead finding fees.
Business – Whether you are the owner or working in a business, sometimes it is good to be able to network with other business people, it can be a great stress reducer.
Association – Eventually it would be good to form an association to assist with coordinating the many aspects associated with all these future meetups of Christian business networking opportunities, locations, venues, activities, speakers etc.
Equipment for presentations ??
We need to find ways to invite all Christian business to attend Meetup opportunities in their areas.
SOMEONE WILL BE AT EACH LOCATION ON THE DATES AND TIMES INDICATED TO WELCOME ANY AND ALL POTENTIAL PARTICIPANTS.
