An event every day that begins at 8:00 am, repeating until December 31, 2019
Dear Fellow West Van Baptist Members,
Here’s how you can volunteer to be a BTA – Baptist Tree Ambassador!
We’ve decided to be at the tree each Saturday afternoon before Christmas, Dec 7, Dec 14, and Dec 21, for one-hour shifts, at 1pm, 2pm, or 3pm.
The location is Dundarave Beach, at the Festival of Lights, at the foot of 25th, below Marine Drive, in West Vancouver, beside the Beach House Restaurant.
Dress warmly and come prepared to enjoy the trees, the lights, the people, and the music.
We’ll deliver a bag of candy canes to the person at the tree who does the 1pm shift on each of the Saturdays. When you complete your shift, please hand on the remaining candy canes to your successor. We’d ask the person who winds up the shifts to bring any remaining candy canes to us at church on Sunday for use the following week.
In our experience, it’s pure fun to stand by the tree, say hello to passers-by, and offer them a candy cane. The sign on our tree identifies it as that of West Vancouver Baptist Church. The message tied to the candy cane provides information about church services and a Bible verse. All you have to do is be friendly, greet people, and hand out candy canes. The atmosphere lends itself well to conversation, among friends and strangers.
Please let us know if you have questions.
Better yet – get more people involved to join us as BTA’s!
