Music Explorers Camp

Dennis Tymoshenko is an excellent musician known for his heartfelt and sincere sound. As a flutist, clarinetist and saxophonist, Dennis is accomplished in playing different styles of music from Baroque to Smooth Jazz. He holds his bachelor degree from Gliere College of Music in Kiev, Ukraine. His Masters and PhD were completed at Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music. Dennis was selected as one of the students to study abroad at the Conservatoire Lyonnaise, Lyon, France as part of the UNESCO Cultural Programme. After his graduation in 1999 he became a clarinetist in the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine and professor at Tchaikovsky National Academy. Since moving to Vancouver in 2012, Dennis has been successfully running his private studio in West Van and participating in numerous concerts. Dennis’ love for music is evident as he plays. He has a strong desire to share his passions with youth and help them develop skills and appreciation for all kinds of music. Dennis is keen to offer this camp in which students can come to explore music with a master!

Formal Music Teaching: discover how to create music. Students will be exposed to basic under- standing of arrangements, improvisation, recording and DJ mixing.
Music Instrument Manufacturing: create music instruments to discover principles of sound producing and experiment ‘playing’ their production.
Church Music History: learn interesting facts about music and its development from King David’s time (1000 BC) to the present.
Media Time: Opportunity to share music with friends, learn from each other or simply play games together.
Snack Break & Outdoor Activity(weather permitting)
Concert: to conclude our week of exploring music together we will have a closing performance on Friday at noon. Family and friends are welcome!
