This time we have the speakers from Sole Food Street Farms.
Sole Food Street Farms is more than just an urban farm — it’s a place of growth, healing, and community connection. Founded in 2009 in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, Sole Food provides supportive, low-barrier jobs and agricultural training for people facing barriers to stability and traditional employment. They grow fresh seasonal food and opportunities for those who need it most. They’re currently in their 16th growing season, cultivating 2.8 acres of underutilized land in Vancouver’s Olympic Village. Their farm features greenhouses, orchards, beehives, and fields of seasonal crops — all managed by a passionate team of farmers and food lovers.
Together, Heather and Alain will share the story of Sole Food, its impact in the community, and what it means to grow food and foster resilience in the heart of the city.
