As we are heading into this coming Christmas season, we have the opportunity to practice our faith to tell people about Christ by partnering with the Samaritan's Purse again, through their Operation Christmas Child.
I want you to think back on how excited you were as a child to receive a gift at Christmas or your birthday; how wonderful that we can show Jesus' love for his children through a small tangible gift of a shoebox in the hopes of bringing them to the greatest gift of all, Jesus.
Through the gift of giving shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, crafts, clothing or personal care items, not only is a door opened to spread the gospel with joy, but it is also a way to bless and remind children that they are loved and not forgotten.
Don’t forget to pick up your shoeboxes in the foyer after the service (along with a ‘how to’ booklet), and we ask that you please place $12 inside every box you prepare, as this will help cover shipping costs.
The National Collection week is from Nov 16th to the 22nd, so that gives us a little over 3 weeks to look out for special items, prepare our boxes, and bring them back to the church NO LATER than at the start of our church service on November 22nd.
And please remember to pray for the boys and girls who will receive these gifts.
In closing, I want to leave you with Matthew 25:40:
‘Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to Me'.
Thank you.
