John 12:1-26
Time to Lift up the King

Time of Lift up the King

Now the preparation is done and we transition into the main event.  Jesus tells His followers that His hour is now here (John 12:23). On this trip to Jerusalem, during this Passover, He really will be the Lamb of God who takes away the world's sin.

John says something that's really quite shocking.  He tells us that in this "hour," Jesus is going to be "glorified."

How should we respond to this glorious Jesus who came to change the world?  As with so many things in life, there are right ways and wrong ways.

Jesus challenges us all to listen with open ears, to hear Him describe the kind of kingdom He wants to establish.  Easter week is a great season to spend a little time reading and reflecting on Jesus again, to set aside my preconceptions, and hear what He might have to say.

Has Jesus created a transition in your life? A line between what you were and what you are now becoming? That was His mission, after all. If it hasn't happened, it can.  If it has, it's worth celebrating, especially at Easter.
