John 20: 19-23
The Breath of God

The Breath of God

The Gospel of John is the story of how Jesus Christ broke the power of sin and death and ushered in a new season of life and re-creation.

Think about it for a moment. Genesis is a record of God's first work of creation and the Gospel of John is an account of God's second great work of creation.

John refers to Jesus as the WORD who spoke the world into existence. Who has now entered our world to break the power of winter and to usher in a season of rebirth and new life - a new creation.

How did He do it? Not by beating us into submission but by laying down His life for us. Jesus sent His life-giving Spirit to take up residence within the life of all those who receive Him as their Lord and Saviour.

The evangelical church, in the West, is in desperate need of a fresh outpouring of God's Spirit.
