Acts 1:9-11
Ascension of Christ

Ascension of Christ

After Jesus' resurrection he was "taken up" to heaven and from there He continues to expand His Kingdom through the lives and witnesses of His loyal followers.

We will highlight six aspects of Jesus' ascension, in hopes that this significant and climactic event will no longer be an afterthought for you.

  1. Jesus' ascension is His return to His father
  2. Jesus' ascension is His heavenly coronation as King
  3. Jesus continues His work after His ascension
  4. The ascended reigning Lord Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to His people
  5. The ascended Lord Jesus is our heavenly mediator and high priest
  6. The ascended Lord Jesus will return as King and Judge

Four implications of Jesus's ascension for our lives:

  1. Remember that Jesus is presently reigning as king and remains actively involved in our world and our lives
  2. Live boldly knowing that your labours in the Lord are not in vain
  3. Take heart that Jesus is not indifferent to our struggle
  4. Find hope in a glorious future
