The Ordinary and the Extraordinary (The Healing of Dorcas)
We are confronted with how God uses the ordinary and extraordinary in the growth and witness of His Church.
Jesus repeatedly promised His disciples that he would empower them to continue His ministry in the world through the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Looking at the life of Dorcas - a woman who was deeply loved by many people. Dorcas was, "Full of good works". Service is a vital part of our witness because it reflects who God is. Saint Francis of Assisi once said, "Preach the Gospel always and if necessary use words."
When Dorcas became sick and died unexpectedly her good works ceased. And the Joppa City Church was devastated. They were willing to go to any length to get her back. She was too wonderful to lose!
