Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,
and our brother Sosthenes, To the church of God in Corinth,
to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people….
- Church is not a building or a meeting. It's people...
- 1 Timothy 3:14-15: Household (family) of God
Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God….
* Provision, safety, community, identity. Welcomed in from outside (compare Ephesians 2:17-19
2. Colossions 1:18 - Body of Christ

* Needing each other, working together, unifified, gifted, doing the work of CHrist (see especially Romans 12 and 1 Corinthinas 12)
3. 1 Corinthinas 3:16: Temple of the Spirit
Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
* Indwelt by the Spirit, alive, holy, gifted and led, united empowered
