How church is like a hamburger
Outline
What's more important in a hamburger: the patty or the bun? Or "What makes a hamburger a hamburger: the patty or the bun?
This morning's title, "How church is like a hamburger?" The answer, of course, is that it's not... However, how can we think about what church should be if we think about it like we might think about a hamburger...
What's more important in the church: faith, love, or hope?
- The Church is a loving community (who pray)
- We are chosen, redeemed, and sealed - all of this is in Christ
- Saints are those who have faith in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross as the law-fulfilling requirement that imparts righteousness to those who believe
- Paul has heard about their love - remembering you in all my prayers
- The Church is a thinking community (who understands the times)
- Wisdom and Revelation, to know him better
- Enlightenment, to know the hope we have in him
- An understanding of the calling we have in Christ
- The church is a confident community (who are enabled by the power of God)
Because of the love of God that has chosen us and the power of God that resurrected our Savior, Jesus Christ, we can have confidence and we can have hope.
