Message from the Pastor - Bob Bahr

It’s hard to believe that summer is rapidly coming to a close and school is ready to start up on Sept 5th. We are also anticipating the start-up of our fall programs.

Personally, Marleen and I want to thank you for your prayers for us as we took a couple of weeks off to relax together and celebrate our 59th Wedding Anniversary.  Our time away was wonderful.  Unfortunately, it was cut a little short because of the raging fires in the interior of the Province, and the heavy smoke that engulfed Pillar Lake where we were staying.

I can’t imagine the pain and grief of those residents of our Province who have lost all their worldly possessions and treasures. So much of our lives are connected to photographs and videos of those special times of celebration in our lives. So, I would like to encourage us to pray for those who are faced with the challenge of picking up the pieces of their lives and beginning again.

I would also ask that we pray for Jane Sidjak and Gillian Palejko both of whom are struggling with very serious health concerns.

This Sunday I will continue in our study in the book of Acts. Please read Acts11: 19-30 which is the story of the spread of the Gospel to the city of Antioch the third largest city in the Roman Empire at the time. When Barnabas was sent by the Mother Church to check it out he was filled with joy “when he saw what the grace of God had done.” This phrase provoked me to ask the question: “What does the grace of God look like in the life of the believer?”

How would you answer that question; “What is the evidence of God’s grace at work in our life as a church?”

I’m grateful for the love which is evident among us.

In light of this, we want to extend our love to Vanessa Jack and Adam Brodeur who will be joined in marriage this Saturday. We are so excited for them and are prayerful that the blessing of God might guide and direct them in the days that lie ahead.

In closing, I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve as your interim transition Pastor. I covet your prayers for strength and wisdom.
