Pastor's Message - Chris Kibble

In my sermon preparation this week, I was blessed by the reminder from John 17:24 that just as we eagerly look forward to seeing Jesus, he's equally looking forward to seeing us.  It reminded me of the joy that the father of the prodigal son expressed upon the return of his younger son. Jesus prays to his Father in John 17:24 'I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory'. Because then we can truly understand what he's actually like. He knows us thoroughly (Psalm 139:4); we can then fully know him.

Maybe we forget how much he loves us: he's preparing a place for us (John 14:2), and he always lives to intercede for us (Hebrews 7:25). And He's given us his Spirit to get us through!

Well, I don't want to share too much of my Sunday sermon in advance! But the thought of seeing Jesus' welcoming smile was a mighty encouraging one to me.
