Pastor's Message - Chris Kibble

Os Guinness writes, ‘One of the greatest Christian leaders of the last century was John R. W. Stott, rector of All Souls Langham Place in London and a peerless preacher, Bible teacher, evangelist, author, global leader and friend to many. I knew him over many decades, but I will never forget my last visit to his bedside three weeks before he died. After an unforgettable hour and more of sharing many memories over many years, I asked him how he would like me to pray for him. Lying weakly on his back and barely able to speak, he answered in a hoarse whisper, "Pray that I will be faithful to Jesus until my last breath." Would that such a prayer be the passion of our generation too’.

Refugee Sponsorship Champion – message from Russ Fox. Just to follow up on my Refugee update on Sunday, the number of refugees is increasing worldwide and the need for sponsorship is greater than ever.

We pray for the 6 million Afghan refugees, the millions of refugees from Ukraine, and millions elsewhere.  I wondered what is God calling WVBC to do, to help innocent people who are being persecuted?  In order to determine our response, we need a Champion to lead a refugee committee.  I’m willing to both advise and be a member of the refugee committee but am unable to lead due to my commitments at Journey Home.   If God is moving your heart and you would like to explore this opportunity to help refugees please contact me at 604 418 5112 or russlfox@gmail.com.

Membership: Council would like to warmly recommend Dave Baillie for church membership. Please advise Hilary Blair if you have any objections.  Call the office for Hilary's contact information.

Technical Support: with the increased variety of communication methods, our technical resources are stretched.  Training is available for sound, video (camera/YouTube/producing), and PowerPoint.  If you are interested in learning a new skill and are occasionally available Sunday mornings, please contact Neil Bell.
