Pastor's Message - Chris Kibble

Back in early August, our church reopening prospects were looking pretty good. Covid was on the decline and audiovisual equipment to enable both in-person and live online worship was on order. However, delivery of the equipment has been unexpectedly delayed and along with holiday plans, we won’t be able to commence installation until September 9. We also need to decide how best to introduce in-person services. Additionally, our dear Liz and Peter Burnett who are working on the washroom project in the sanctuary and other church projects were involved in a major car accident on 30th August. They’re generally fine, though their vehicle was a write-off.

All to say, this is proving to be an unusually challenging time! Therefore, sadly, we won’t be reopening on September 12 or having our BBQ on September 19. We’re simply not ready. We will of course be continuing with our weekly Zoom services. Many thanks to Kathy Curtis and to her helpers who were to organize the BBQ.

Be assured that your staff and Council are working through these issues and we’ll be in touch with updates, it’s at times like these that I’m reminded of Proverbs 19:21 ‘Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails’. Though life can be frustrating at times, the good Lord is in control and we’re very thankful.
