Join Ocean Wise for an engaging presentation about ocean conservation and the many ways we can help protect our ocean.
This interactive session will highlight Ocean Wise’s work in whale conservation, seaforestation, sustainable seafood, shoreline cleanups, plastic pollution research, youth volunteering, education, and ocean literacy. Participants will explore how healthy ocean ecosystems connect to our daily lives and how people of all ages can make a difference.
The session will also include hands-on artifact stations with marine mammal and Pacific Northwest species materials, offering a chance to ask questions, share stories, and connect with Ocean Wise educators in a welcoming, conversation-based setting.
The presenters will be Jillian McLeod and Emma Godin. •Jillian is a passionate environmental educator with a love for nudibranchs (sea slugs!). She has been working in the environmental field since 2023 and on the Mobile Education team at Ocean Wise since 2025. •Emma is an ocean educator and storyteller. She has worked with ocean conservation organizations in Canada and internationally. Her experience spans diverse roles, from conducting pilot whale research aboard boats in the Canary Islands, to working as a marketing and conservation assistant in Barcelona, and currently serving as an Ocean Educator with Ocean Wise.
