Message from Pastor Bob

These are indeed challenging times for us as a church.

Last Sunday the Search Committee presented the name of their candidate for the position of our new Lead Pastor. Ken Radant is well-known to many of us.

He and his wife Diane have been members of our church for the past 5 years. They have also hosted a conversational English class to help new immigrants with their English. In addition, Ken has served as the Chairman of our Church Council for the last year and a half. A copy of his bio is attached to this email and there will be hard copies available on the information desk on Sunday.

This Sunday, following the worship service, we will have an opportunity to meet together in the Sanctuary and connect with Ken and Don Hill the Chairman of our Search Committee. You probably have some questions you would like to ask to help you discern how you should vote following the service on Oct 29. The Search Committee recommends he become our New Pastor but the final decision depends on the vote of the members of the congregation a week Sunday.

To help you understand our decision-making process as a church I will be preaching a sermon on “Congregational Government as a form of Baptist Church governance.”

In the meantime, I would ask all of us to take time to seek God’s discernment through prayer. We want to be open to leading to the Spirit in this important decision.

May God lead us together as we gather to discern his will.
