Message from Pastor Ken

I hope you’re all having a great week. It certainly launched well this last Sunday. What a wonderful time we had together, celebrating our Lord’s presence and His faithfulness at the launch of the Chinese New Year! A huge thank-you again to all who led us in worship, and to those who decorated so beautifully and provided such a fabulous celebratory buffet.

This week our gathering will be simpler, but I trust that once again our hearts will be lifted in worship and that our fellowship will be sweet.

We will be returning to the book of Acts on Sunday, taking a look at Paul’s farewell message to the Ephesian elders, as recounted in Acts 20:17-38. This will be a kind of “farewell” for us, too. No, I am not aware of anyone who is leaving this week. (Whew!) But it will be the second-last sermon in our series on Acts. We’ll finish with a final message on February 25, looking at some lessons from Paul’s time in prison and his journey to Rome.

I thought it might be good to give you a little advanced warning about that last message, since it covers 8 chapters, from Acts 21 through 28. Obviously, we won’t be able to read the whole passage on the 25th, and I’ll only be able to comment on a few selected highlights. So, if you are able, I recommend that you spend a little time reading through Acts 21-28 between now and then. It will make the message more meaningful and will help to fill in some of the gaps where we have to move quickly through the story.

In the meantime, have a wonderful week. Enjoy the sunshine, while we have it, and may you be aware of God’s gracious and life-giving presence wherever the days take you.
